Governor and Senator from Louisiana in the 1920s and 1930s, Huey Long was also a presidential candidate with populist appeal before he was assassinated at a young age. He was the beginning of the dynasty for the Long family in Louisiana that lasted for several decades.

Roy Bean may have been a dirty rotten scoundrel, but no one can deny that he was instrumental in cleaning up lawlessness west of the Pecos river, near Big Bend Country, in the late 1800s. His unorthodox methods made him a legend in his time.
